About DJ's House
I'm Hao's Dad, a software engineer in Taiwan and a dad of two. This site holds the small tools I built for my own family and the parenting notes I've collected along the way.
Why this site exists
Every time the kids grow a little, a new problem shows up at home: a baby who won't stay asleep, a preschooler who wants to play alone, a schoolkid who needs reminding about homework and chores every day, a family trip abroad where nobody can read the menu. When I get stuck, I try to fix it, and since I can write code, I build a small tool, use it at home first, and share it if it actually helps.
What I read and what worked (or didn't) while building those tools ends up in the guides here. DJ's House isn't a company. It's one dad's workbench.
What you'll find here
- Tools organized by your child's age: baby sleep (0–2), preschool play (3–6), chores and habits (5–14), plus family trips for any age.
- Parenting guides: each one sticks to things you can try today, with a short FAQ.
- The podcast 皓仔的時空冒險 (Hao's Time Adventures): Three Kingdoms stories for kids 6 to 10, in Mandarin, comparing the historical record with the famous novel.
How the guides are written
Each guide starts from what actually happened at our house. Before writing, I check public pediatric and education sources and try to make clear what is a recommendation and what is simply how our family does it. I don't sell courses, and I avoid overstating results.
For health, medical or developmental questions, the guides offer general information only; please follow your pediatrician or another qualified professional. If you spot a mistake or something outdated, email me and I'll check it, update the article and note the date.
